Non-Hazardous (Residual) Waste

GemChem, Inc. operates a PADEP permitted residual waste processing facility at our facility in Lititz, PA. GemChem, Inc. processes a wide variety of non-hazardous waste materials from a variety of industries, manufacturers and commercial & residential properties. We will characterize and profile waste according to its chemical and physical properties, then properly dispose, incinerate or recycle per EPA guidelines.

What is Non-Hazardous Waste?

Nearly everything we do leaves behind some kind of waste. Understanding how your waste is generated is an important factor in determining whether waste can be considered Non-Hazardous. Generators should be able to identify the raw materials (obtain SDS) and, have knowledge of the process that creates the waste to determine the composition. In some cases, analysis may also be required.

EPA defines solid waste as any garbage or refuse, sludge from a wastewater treatment plant, water supply treatment plant, or air pollution control facility and other discarded material, including solid, liquid, semi-solid, or contained gaseous material resulting from industrial, commercial, mining, and agricultural operations, and from community activities.
