Waste can also be classified as "Universal" Waste. These are hazardous wastes but, are more common and pose a lower risk than other types of hazardous waste. The EPA governs the collection and management of Universal Waste. As such, promoting environmentally sound collection, proper treatment or recycling. Universal Waste regulations can vary by state and include additional waste streams.
